In today’s action packed episode, we’re not quite double featuring John Woo’s Hard Boiled (1992) and John Woo’s Stranglehold (2007) Honestly, we mostly talk about the movie. Both feature grade-A prime violence from the only man not employed by team Simpson-Bruckheimer with the guts to let Nicolas Cage fly a speedboat. Chow Yun-fat and Tony Leung navigate conflicted loyalties and secret identities to come together in their quest to shoot dozens upon dozens of people. Come for the brainsplatter, stay for the light jazz.
Guys, guys! We found it! A movie where Jean Reno is happy and kinda just hangs out! He doesn’t murder anyone or scowl or kiss a distant descendant or anything! He just sits in the middle of a largely pleasant romantic comedy and enjoys watching it happen around him. Magical.
We’re watching Black Panther! Honestly, I’m just happy to see an Angela Bassett movie where she isn’t two or three letter grades better than everything else on screen. Yeah, that’s right I’m using the release of the most anticipated movie of the year to call out Strange Days. On Brand.
In a very special holiday episode, we cover a fantasy we can really get behind. If all you want out of life is more Michael Keaton, Multiplicity has it all. Join us as we watch a man repair his personal and professional lives, by skipping them. Also, Andie MacDowell gets hers.. and then some.
